The Big List, End of Week 1

Hey everyone, bear here. There won’t be a new episode review up tonight: I didn’t get a chance to watch anything last night, and it usually takes about 24 hours until I’m ready to write about a show.

But, while I don’t have a new review, I do have a list of the shows I’ll likely write about for the rest of the season. That bad news is that I only plan on writing weekly reviews for 4 shows–writing a full post is lengthy and exhausting, and it’s not something I can do every day indefinitely. The good news is that I think there will probably be 4 shows that will be interesting for long enough to sustain me through–something I was worried about earlier this week after three straight days of lame comedies.

So here’s the list, according to my interest in writing about it:

  • B Gata H Kei
  • Kaichou wa Maid-sama
  • Mayoi Neko Overrun
  • RAINBOW (have watched but haven’t written anything on, expect that tomorrow)
  • Senkou no Night Raid
  • Angel Beats
  • Arakawa Under the Bridge
  • K-On!!
  • Kiss x Sis

There are still two shows left to air: House of Five Leaves, which airs tomorrow, and Yojou-han Shinwa Taikei, which airs next Thursday. Either or both of them could definitely be worth writing about, so there might be changes down the road.

Remember, that list is by what I think I can write about long-term, not whether or not I liked them. A couple of shows there I like but don’t think I can write about for the whole run, like Senkou no Night Raid, and some of the shows higher on the list don’t interest me personally, but could make for interesting posts, like Mayoi Neko Overrun.

My hating the show doesn’t even preclude me writing about it. I might write another post on why Kiss x Sis is the world’s dullest work of pornography, for instance. Or I might watch the second episode of a show and realize I unfairly judged it the first go round. I do that a lot.

I also might start writing about Durarara!!, which is already 13 episodes into its run, but is better and more interesting than every other show that recently started airing. It’s one of the things that finally gave me the impetus to start this thing, so it only makes sense to include it here.

Anyways, thanks to the proud few out there who are reading this. If you like what you’re reading, please comment. And if you’d like write to write for the site, send me a sample review. You can find more information on the about page.
